TRAP-X has been designed to attract Vespa velutina by releasing bait attractant odour molecules through the front grid of the trap. Hornets are attracted to these vapours and enter the trap through the one way funnel. Once 1 or 2 hornets are trapped, they release alert pheromones that progressively attract more hornets.

HOW IT WORKS

USING ATTRACTANTS

To attract Vespa velutina, place your attractant/bait inside the trap using a suitable container. A species specific bait for Yellow Legged Hornet is advised to block attracting of honey bees and other beneficial insects.

If positioned in TRAP-X correctly, your bait will be protected from the weather, extending its emissive properties and additionally saving the expense of repetitive rebating.
